You can fly to Nanaimo Airport from Victoria or Vancouver Airports. You can also fly via seaplane from Vancouver Harbour to Nanaimo Harbour with Harbour Air (1-800-665-0212) or Westcoast Air (1-800-347-2222) or from Vancouver's South Terminal to Nanaimo Harbour with Harbour Air, Westair or Amigo Airways (250-753-1115) |
Ferry: |
There are two ferry services from Vancouver. One leaves from Horseshoe Bay and lands in Departure Bay , (Central Nanaimo). The other leaves Tsawwassen and arrives Duke Point, (South Nanaimo). These ferries are passenger and vehicle. For up-to-date schedule information check their website:www.bcferries.com Once in Nanaimo, the Gabriola Ferry Terminal is located in downtown Nanaimo, opposite Port Place Mall, near the Port Theatre. Look for the signs as you enter the city. Gabriola's ferry is also a vehicle and passenger vessel. |
On The Road: |
Nanaimo is only a 1 1/2 hour drive from Victoria north on Island Highway. You can also drive south on the Island Highway from North Island destinations. Buses are also available. Call Greyhound Canada at (250) 753-4371 or Island Coach Lines at (250)753-4371 for details. |
Drive to B&B: |
Once you arrive on Gabriola, take North Road from the Ferry Terminal until you reach a "Y" in the road. Veer to the right onto South Road. Follow South Road until you pass the Golf Course on your right. Then take the first road to your left, Coats Road; it is about 3 minutes passed the Golf Course. Follow Coats Road right to the end. The road changes from paved to gravel, then back to paved. Once you reach the end of Coats Road, you'll see our sign posted and a "Yellow Man-over-board Lifesling" on a tree with our address: 1495 Coats. Turn into our driveway, travel through the forest until you see our meadow, raspberry patch and then the house. You made it! Welcome. |
